NEVADA WIER
Nevada Wier is a photographer specializing in documenting the remote corners and cultures of the world. She is recognized for her creative and intimate approach to people, as well as her intriguing Infrared images. She has been published in many prestigious national and international publications, including: National Geographic Magazine, GEO, and NYTimes Magazine. In addition, Nevada was the photographer for The Land of Nine Dragons – Vietnam Today (Abbeville Press), photography from contemporary Vietnam, which was the winner of the Lowell Thomas Best Travel Book of 1992 award. She was the author and photographer of Adventure Travel Photography (Amphoto). She was a participating photographer in A Day in the Life of Thailand (Collins), Planet Vegas (Collins) and Mother Earth (Sierra Clubs Books). She is currently working on a new book, A Nomadic Vision (publication TBA). Nevada has also been featured in many television productions such as: National Geographic Explorer, National Geographic Through the Lens, and Canon Photo Safaris. She has been a speaker on the nation-wide tour LIVE… from National Geographic. Nevada leads photography tours and workshops for National Geographic, The Santa Fe Workshops, Los Angeles Center of Photography, and other educational institutions. Photo District News named her one of America’s best photography workshop teachers. In addition, she is a Fellow of The Explorer’s Club and a member of the Women’s Geographic Society. Her fine-art prints are featured in numerous public and private collections. Nevada is based in Santa Fe, New Mexico. USA.
