William Albert Allard says of the work: This work done on commission from Polaroid was made in 1980 and 1985. I was one of the first to photograph with the brand new Polaroid SX70 Time Zero film in 1980. In 1985 Polaroid asked me to again photograph for them with their new Polaroid Spectra camera and film. For both commissions I chose to work in Oaxaca, Mexico.

Two of Allard’s Polaroid prints were included in the major 2017 exhibition and publication, “The Polaroid Project” published by the Foundation for the Exhibition of Photography. The book includes over 300 images by many well known photographers like Allard including Ansel Adams, Chuck Close, William Wegman, Lucas Samaras. David Hockney, Peter Beard, Franco Fontana, Philip-Lorca deCorcia, Jack Welpott, Andy Warhol, Marie Cosindas, Andre Kertez, Shelby Lee Adams.
